Buurtcentrum Zuilen, Utrecht

Buurtcentrum Zuilen in the Municipality of Utrecht recently underwent a complete renovation, aiming to create a modern, open and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

Above the desks the Zumo 60 Vario track luminaire is used, so that the desks are optimally lit, and in the large spaces the Fusion-M 600 x 600 square luminaires provide even, comfortable general lighting.

For Zuilen, the client and architect wanted to create a community centre whose architecture is a contemporary, fresh reflection of the surrounding neighbourhood from the 1910s to the 1930s. A house for the neighbourhood that invites people to meet, both inside and outside the building. The architect focused on a sustainable and flexible community centre, so that the building serves as a centre and meeting place (a cornerstone of the community) that is usable and adaptable for at least the next 40 years.
