Huis Marseille, Museum voor Fotografie
Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography in Amsterdam, is a leading institute where contemporary photography and history come together. The museum is housed in two connected 17th-century canal houses, with a distinctive architectural quality and an intimate, layered atmosphere. A context in which light plays a crucial role.

For the exhibition Shadow Self – Portal to a Parallel World, in collaboration with 50LUX – Lichtontwerp & advies, we were able to supply our Zumo 60 luminaires. These luminaires are fitted with an integrated zoom lens, with which the beam width can be precisely adjusted.
Thanks to this flexibility, the lighting can be tuned exactly to each photographic work. Details, contrasts and compositions are shown to their best advantage, without disturbing the fragile balance between artwork and historic space. The result is a calm but powerful light layer that reinforces the content of the exhibition.
This project came about thanks to an intensive and pleasant collaboration with the designers and lighting specialists involved. We thank 50LUX – Lichtontwerp & advies and in particular Frank Hulsebosch for their expertise and the great collaboration on this special exhibition.
