Huis van het boek

Huis van het boek in The Hague is the oldest book museum in the world. The museum is housed in the former residence of Baron Van Westreenen van Tiellandt (1783–1848) and tells the story of the written and printed book, in all its forms, from historic to contemporary. Each year the museum presents several temporary exhibitions centred on both old and modern books.

Huis van het boek

For this special museum, on behalf of and in collaboration with 50LUX Lichtontwerp & advies, we were able to supply our Zumo 60 luminaires. These luminaires feature an integrated zoom lens, with which the beam width can easily be adjusted. This makes the lighting extremely flexible to use and allows exactly the right focus to be placed on each display case or object.

In a museum environment where fragile objects and legibility come together, controlled and careful light is essential. The Zumo 60 offers high light quality and precision, without detracting from the historic context of the building. In this way, books and objects are optimally visible while the space retains its calm and character.

The result is an understated but powerful lighting solution that supports the exhibitions and enhances the experience for visitors. A fine balance between functionality, atmosphere and respect for cultural heritage.

We thank 50LUX Lichtontwerp & advies for the pleasant collaboration on this fine project and look forward to future joint projects.
