Museon

For the Museon – Omniversum in The Hague, Atomis realised a high-quality, future-proof lighting solution that fully meets the requirements of a modern museum environment. In museums, lighting plays a crucial role: not only for presenting objects and exhibitions, but also for preserving valuable collections and creating an optimal visitor experience. For this project, a combination of the Zumo Contour and the Zumo Vario 60 and 90 luminaires was chosen. This combination offers an excellent balance between precision, flexibility, light quality and sustainability.

Museon

An important part of the installation is formed by the Zumo Contour spots. These luminaires are specially designed for applications where precise light control is essential. Thanks to the integrated blades, the light pattern can be delineated extremely precisely. This makes it possible to light objects, display cases and artworks exactly, without unwanted stray light affecting the surroundings. This not only contributes to a better visual presentation but also helps to direct visitors' attention to specific parts of an exhibition.

The flexibility of the Zumo Contour is particularly valuable in a museum where exhibitions change regularly. The light can easily be adapted to new objects, presentations or spatial layouts without requiring major changes to the installation. As a result, the lighting always remains optimally matched to the content of each exhibition.

In addition to the Contour spots, Zumo Vario 60 and Zumo Vario 90 luminaires are also used within the Museon. These luminaires provide both accent lighting and general base lighting. Thanks to their adjustable beam angles, they offer a high degree of flexibility. This makes it easy to adapt spaces to different exhibition concepts, ranging from intimate presentations to larger open exhibition spaces. The combination of different luminaire types ensures balanced lighting that performs strongly both functionally and aesthetically.

In museum environments, light quality is decisive. Objects must be rendered as true to life as possible, so that visitors can experience colours, materials and details as intended. That is why luminaires with an exceptionally high colour rendering index of CRI >97 were chosen. This high colour quality is also supported by extensive light measurements and TM-30 reports, with which the colour performance is precisely analysed.

Thanks to this high-quality light, colours are rendered bright, vivid and realistic. This is of great importance for artworks, historic objects and educational exhibitions where colour information is an essential part of the presentation. As a result, visitors experience a richer and more authentic encounter with the collection.

In addition, the combination of different luminous fluxes, optics and light distributions makes it possible to create the right atmosphere for each exhibition. From subtle lighting for fragile objects to powerful accents that emphasise specific elements: the installation offers all the possibilities needed to achieve the desired visual impact.
